Project Description

The Hong Kong – Zhuhai – Macao Bridge is a 55 kilometer bridge – tunnel system consisting of a series of three cable-stayed bridges, an undersea tunnel, and four artificial islands. It is both the longest sea crossing and the longest open-sea fixed link on earth. The HKZMB spans the Lingding and Jiuzhou channels, connecting Hong Kong, Macau and Zhuhai – three major cities on the Pearl River Delta.

The 55km HKZMB consists of three main sections: the Main Bridge (29.6km) in the middle of the Pearl River estuary, the Hong Kong Link Road (12km) in the east and the Zhuhai Link Road (13.4km) in the west of the estuary.

On November 2014, our company was awarded for the project of “Contract No. HY/2011/03 – Hong Kong – Zhuhai – Macao Bridge Hong Kong Link Road – Section between Scenic Hill and Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities” from China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Ltd.

The works herein specified for waterproofing system to SHT & HAT Tunnel, Depressed Roundabout, Utility Culvert Structure and Maintenance Subway. The waterproofing works were over 200,000 m² for this project and the works was started on February 2015 and completed on September 2018.

The works were included application of waterproofing membrane to the mined tunnel & cut and cover tunnel of SHT & HAT Tunnel, Depressed Roundabout, Utility Culvert Structure and Maintenance Subway. We provided 10 years warranty for the waterproofing works in this project.
